How to get fuel in Manor Lords

Gathering Manor Lords fuel lets you continue producing goods, but it's also necessary to help your townspeople survive frigid winters. That means your woodcutters have their work cut out for them a lot of the time, needing to gather a healthy supply of firewood, which can later be converted into charcoal, for immediate use to keep your settlement running and to be stockpiled for when the temperature drops. It can be a tricky balancing act, but with the right setup for getting fuel in Manor Lords, you can make things much easier.

To get fuel in Manor Lords you need a Woodcutter's Lodge which you can build from the Gathering menu. It'll cost 1 piece of timber to make so you shouldn't have trouble making it from your supplies or a Logging Camp to produce timber. Once built and with a person assigned to work there, a Woodcutter's Lodge produces firewood, providing plenty of fuel so long as you have trees to fell.

It can be a little confusing when you have four wood production buildings, but the Logging Camp and Saw Pit produce timber and planks respectively for construction, while the Forester's Hut replants trees to keep you in stock.

It's worth noting as well that if you're in dire need of fuel, you might want to assign multiple people to your Woodcutter's Lodge to speed production up. As it says in your Supplies tab (the barrel in the top menu), each Burgage Plot uses up one Fuel a month generally, but that doubles in winter. Some workplaces also need fuel so it's a resource you might need to prioritize occasionally.

This Supplies info also makes it clear how many months of fuel you have, so keep an eye on it as winter draws near. If you don't have enough to see you through the bitter months, you'll want to up production.

Building stores will help you stockpile Fuel but you can also unlock the charcoal kiln in your development tree. That unlocks a new building which will let you convert one piece of firewood into two pieces of charcoal, doubling your fuel potential. Build that near your Woodcutter's Lodge to speed up production and remember to assign someone to work there.

In a pinch you can also set up a Manor Lords Trade Route to buy in firewood once you have enough Manor Lords Regional Wealth to set one up. But it's so easy to set up and staff a Woodcutter's hut, you should rarely find yourself needing to.
