Assassin's Creed Unity Murder Mystery Guide
The Body Politic
There are 7 locations to trawl through for this investigation, but thankfully, 3 of them are in a single building, so that's nice.
Location #1 - Dining Room
Clue #1 - Man's Body
Examine the man's body to begin the murder mystery.
Clue #2 - Victim's Wine Glass
Check the glass next to the body for clue number 2.
Clue #3 - Statement of Madame Hennenbert
Speak to the grieving widow to find out that the murder wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clue #4 - Statement of Antoine Gerard
Talk to Antoine to add his statement to your file.
Clue #5 - Statement of Madeleine Gerard
You're just networking like a little butterfly in here. Have a chat with Madeleine for another statement.
Clue #6 - Statement of Olivier Gidet
Collect your last statement from Olivier.
Clue #7 - Necklace
The necklace is by the window. All signs currently point to the culprit being a a portly, bespectacled writer in his 60s, rarely seen without a jaunty black cap, but let's just see how this plays out.
Location #2 - Office
The office is upstairs from the dining room.
Clue #1 - Note from Gedet
The note from Gedet is on the desk.
Clue #2 - Feuillant Letter
Check the sofa for the letter.
Location #3 - Kitchen
Nip downstairs from the dining room to find the kitchen.
Clue #1 - Statement of Alicia
Speak to Alicia to get the address for a new location.
Clue #2 - Statement of Armand
This man's willingness to die for a pompous aristocrat who probably pays him a pittance of a salary is just embarrassing. Get his statement and mourn the day Ubisoft took out the ability to give NPCs a good bop around the earhole.
Clue #3 - Note to Alicia
Check the table for the note to Alicia.
Clue #4 - Window Pane
The last clue in the kitchen is the great big bullet hole in the window.
Location #4 - André's House
Clue #1 - Statement of Old Woman
Clue #2 - Bottle
Check the drawers next to the bed to find a mighty suspicious-looking bottle.
Clue #3 - Note for André
Read the note from Alicia for a new location.
Location #5 - Apothecary
Clue #1 - Statement of André
Location #6 - Glassmaker's
Clue #1 - List of Accounts
Check the bench for the list of accounts.
Clue #2 - Statement of the Glassmaker
This guy is pretty tight-lipped, but have a chat with him anyway.
Clue #3 - Glass Bead
Take a look in the corner for the last clue here.
Location #7 - Black Office
To find one of the clues in the Black Office, you technically need to have a lock pick skill of 3, but thanks to the weird and unnecessary restrictions on how the skills unlock, you'll need to complete sequence 9 in its entirety before that's even possible. I went as far as sequence 5, obtained lock pick level 2 and used my mongoose-like reflexes instead, so if you're prepared to persevere, it is possible to just wing it.
Clue #1 - Report
You'll find the report on the desk.
Clue #2 - Note from Chemist
Check the desk by the screen for the note from the chemist.
Clue #3 - Note to Agent
Another note on another desk.
Clue #4 - Agent List
There's a locked chest containing the last clue. It is possible to open it at lock pick level 2, but technically it requires level 3 which only becomes available after you complete sequence 9.
Whodunnit?
The murderer was Antoine Gerard, a.k.a. Black Office agent "Patriot".
To skip to the end without visiting all 7 locations, examine the body at the dining table, then speak to and accuse Gerard.

I've seen enough: Assassin's Creed Shadows will beat Black Flag as my favorite AC game as Ubisoft says it lets you "Naruto run" as the "fastest Assassin" it's ever made
Ubisoft had to "retool" the mobile game lore for Assassin's Creed Shadows, with a brand new modern narrative that "will develop over time"
