Zynga announces Mafia Wars 2 with trailer

Zynga is going to make you an offer you can’t refuse – and if you refuse, you’ll be pestered about it on your Facebook wall by your dad, your uncles, your creepy cousin, and everyone you went to high school with. The browser-based powerhouse publisher has announced development on Mafia Wars 2, and released a trailer for their upcoming follow-up to the absurdly popular social game. The trailer doesn’t have any in-game footage, but it does have a Jane’s Addiction song and a guy being burnt by a cigar.

Details on the actual gameplay are scarce. Zynga is saying that it’s their most “bad-ass” game to date, but so far the only concrete information we have is that it’s going to take place in an entirely new universe with a large 3D world. Beyond that we the tagline, “Being bad never felt so good,” and the promise of a “Coming soon” release date. Oh, and we suppose we know that it’s going to be about being in the Mafia, and that players will engage in “wars” between their families. There's a little more on their Facebook page, but still not much too much go on.

We hope to hear more in the coming weeks. Expect more news on the upcoming sequel – and expect to see it on GamesRadar. But be warned. Even if you’re not interested, there’s a good chance you’ll wake up with a horse’s head in the bed next to you.
