Guardians Of The Galaxy looks to have found its female lead, with Zoe Saldana reportedly in talks to play the assassin Gamora.
Saldana is thought to be in advanced discussions to play the green-skinned slayer, whose story arc sees her trained and raised by the villainous Thanos before eventually turning against him.
With Thanos already teased as the big bad for The Avengers 2 , it seems as though the intergalactic villain is set to play a significant role in Guardians Of The Galaxy , with Saldana’s character likely to feed into his story.
Should she sign on, Saldana will join recent addition Dave Bautista and leading man Chris Pratt in the growing ensemble, with the characters of Groot and Rocket Raccon still to be cast.
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
