Red swimsuits and lifesavers at the ready, because the forthcoming Baywatch reboot just got 50% more buff. That’s right, none other than Zac Efron will be bringing his washboard stomach to the party, lining up alongside Dwayne Johnson in Seth Gordon's comic spin on the classic TV show.
According to THR, Efron is currently in advanced negotiations to join the project that will see Johnson’s straight-laced lifeguard forced to team up with a young, risk-taking hothead. Assuming the dotted line is eventually signed, they should make for quite the double-act!
Efron introduced himself as a capable comedy player in last year’s smash Neighbors, the sequel to which he recently signed on for. Plus, he knows how to don a pair of Speedos, which surely can’t hurt… No release date has been confirmed as yet, but production is expected to get underway in February 2016.
