Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon best Halo Reach in Japan
Pokemon wannabe for the PSP outsells Bungie’s big shooter
Halo Reach may have broken sales records last week, but it seems that Japan’s gaming audience just wasn’t interested. Although Bungie’s latest entry in the Halo series sold a respectable number of copies, it came in fourth on the sales charts, following Pokemon Black %26 White, Front Mission Evolved, and Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force 05, of all things. It’s not surprising that Pokemon Black %26 White did so well, but Yu-Gi-Oh? C’mon!
According to4Gamer.net, Pokemon Black %26 White for the Nintendo DS topped the sales charts for the week of September 13, selling a whopping total of 2,557,779 copies. Front Mission Evolved for the PS3 came in second with 51,084 copies sold. But the real kicker was Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force 05, which managed to outsell Bungie’s big new shooter with 45,879 copies sold last week. Halo Reach was a very close fourth with only 44,413 copies sold.
