Banjo-Kazooie devs' Yooka-Laylee funded in 38 minutes
If Yooka-Laylee looks a whole lot like Banjo-Kazooie to you, that's no accident. The classics-inspired 3D platformer is being created by several former Rare developers, and they're asking all fans of hopping, bopping, and item-collecting to pledge their financial support on Kickstarter.
Playtonic Games asked for £175,000 / $270,041 to ship Yooka-Laylee on PC in October 2016, which it blew past within an hour. Considering that the numbers are ticking up too fast for me to have any hope of giving you an up-to-date sum, perhaps it would be more relevant to discuss stretch goals: Yooka-Laylee will release on PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One simultaneously with the PC version if the fundraiser hits £1,000,000, and lesser milestones will unlock various extra goodies like multiplayer modes and more boss battles.
If you want to snag a digital copy of Yooka-Laylee for consoles, you'll need to pledge at least £15, or roughly $24, to the Kickstarter.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
