Stalk other peoples' friends in next dashboard update
Nov 27, 2007
Microsoft has trickled out more details on the next Xbox 360 dashboard update, which will add the ability to browse other peoples' friends lists... a bit like social networks Facebook and MySpace.
"With this new feature, members can find old friends or connect with new ones within the community of more than eight million people on Xbox LIVE around the globe and send messages and game invites, as well as compare games and Achievements," says Microsoft's blurb.
"With the prevalence of social media websites such as MySpace and Facebook, this type of capability has largely come to be expected from consumers as a means to relate in an online community."
The update, which is will start streaming down Xbox Live on December 4, also adds the reasonably more excitingXbox Originalsas well as a fancyParental Timer, so yourgirlfriend can stopyou fromplaying Halo all night.
The questions is, how quick will Major Nelson be to set his privacy settings, before we all browse his friends list and discover Bill Gates' Gamertag?
