X-Men: Days Of Future Past moved forward to May 2014
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes makes way
Bryan Singer's forthcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past has been moved forward by a couple of months, with the new film set to land in cinemas on 23 May 2014.
Fox is keen for Days Of Future Past to kick off its summer blockbuster lineup, with Singer's grand-scale mutant ensemble likely to be a huge box-office draw.
Making way for the mutants will be Matt Reeves' Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes , which will now move back to the 18 July 2014 slot vacated by Days Of Future Past .
The two films have been linked in Fox's plans ever since the two films were simultaneously announced, and the studio will be hoping that they will make for an extremely successful summer.
Summer 2015 is the one that really does look intensely crowded with tentpole pictures, so Fox could score big during the calm before the storm.
The Michael Fassbender-produced Assassin's Creed adaptation also had a new release date of 19 June 2015 confirmed.
