Why you can trust 12DOVE
Moving the control system away from awkward stylus scribbling to good, old fashioned button pressing instantly makes SmackDown vs Raw 2010 a more approachable and playable wrestler. But the issuing of commands is not as responsive as we’d like.
Meanwhile, the freedom to roam around the ECW, SmackDown and WWE headquarters, train your character with muscle-pumping minigames and interact with the mighty wit of WWE superstars adds decent RPG-like longevity, but it also slows down the pace of the action. Although there are nine different match types and performance-boosting trading cards to use in matches, it still feels like a step backwards to move forwards.
