Wreck-It Ralph , the latest CG-toon from Disney Animation, has topped the US box-office, taking $49.1m in its opening weekend.
That figure makes it the biggest ever opening for a Disney Animation, as it sneaks just ahead of Tangled .
Despite a strong showing, it didn’t quite match Pixar’s box-office standards, with Brave scoring a weekend haul of $66m earlier this year.
Wreck-It Ralph ’s total was no doubt aided by its wide appeal - adding nostalgic videogame fans to the standard family animation audience.
