Why are we talking about this on a video game website? Well, the clever folks at Blizzard and Upper Deck have worked out a deal where special Loot cards will be inserted into some of the booster packs with varying degrees of rarity. So far, they've got three in-game rewards you can win if you get one of these lucky Loot cards. That's right, if you buy the right pack of booster cards, you could end up with a special tabard (fairly common), a baby hippogriff pet (sorta rare) or a turtle mount you can ride at any level (extremely rare). Granted, these treats are purely cosmetic, so you can ride that spiffy turtle, but it won't actually make you any faster.
Still, we are mega-excited to get our hands back on these cards as the brief play session simply wasn't enough. Fortunately, none of us will have to wait too long as the World of Warcraft Collectible Card Game is expected in stores on October 25, 2006 with the follow-up Raid Deck: Onyxia's Lair hitting on November 22.
