World of Tanks adds free moon combat mode
Look at the Moon. So haughty and superior up there, thinking it's safe from human aggression. Well I tell you what, Moon, we already stuck a flag in you, and now the console version of World of Tanks aims to add a few new craters to your smug face with its April Fools' mode.
Confusingly, the new Moon River map and "Lunar" mode won't actually be added until Friday 3rd April (Wargaming says that the pack is "in the spirit of April Fools' Day"), but log in on that day to find yourself transplanted into a low gravity environment - as well as grab yourself a new tank. The pack's final addition is a modified special edition of the M-24 Chaffee, complete with a burst-fire laser cannon.
Coming alongside with Dying Light's first-of-the-month additions, it looks as though games developers are finally realising what players have been saying for years - April Fools game pranks often sound like as much or more fun than the original games themselves, so why not add them in?
