World of Nintendo
From the well-made to the wtf - we bring you the odds and ends of Nintendo
11)Wii robo-dog project
The Wii Remote has established itself as probably the most versatile game console controller ever. Here, it takes on the task of bringing wireless discipline to Sony%26rsquo;s Aibo, which used to cost a bundle of cash when it was new but was discontinued when everybody who could afford that much money for a toy puppy had already bought one. This particular Aibo found a home at the University of Calgary, and it%26rsquo;s loving the Wii Remote action.
12)Galaxy launch extravaganza in Oxford Street
It was the biggest Nintendo product launch since the Wii itself, and hundreds of costumed fans queued outside the Oxford Street branch of Game in anticipation of being among the first to get their hands on Galaxy. To entertain them while they waited, they could watch some bloke in the shop window playing something else entirely- New Super Mario Bros on DS. He%26rsquo;s using part of a DS devkit to display it on the big screen, so this must have been arranged by Nintendo. That%26rsquo;s true marketing genius.
