World of Nintendo
From the well-made to the wtf - we bring you the odds and ends of Nintendo
6)Cart boxes are back
How have we managed to survive without a set of these? They%26rsquo;re called DS Card Blocks, and they come in packs of six for a few bucks. Once your DS carts are stored snugly inside, you can clip them together to make interesting shapes and artistic sculptures. Wonder how many it%26rsquo;ll take to make a Mario sprite? We could definitely use a regular supply of these.
7)Super Tesla Bros.
Sparkly electrical magic is what makes our consoles do anything other than sit by the TV looking plasticky. We%26rsquo;d have no fun at all without it, and to celebrate the crackling wonder of high-voltage circuitry, two engineers from Illinois designed the Zeusaphone- two Tesla coils (ask a physics person) that do a grand job of playing the theme from Super Mario Bros. using the sweet sound of lightning.
8) Nintendo %26amp; the whale
Greenpeace compiled a report on how %26lsquo;green%26rsquo; the console makers are, and Nintendo finished rock bottom with zero points out of ten- possibly because they refused to co-operate. As a rule, if it%26rsquo;s mass-produced, it%26rsquo;s about as green as a suppurating landfill.
