New Wonder Woman movie footage: bullet deflecting bracelets are IN

Wonder Woman's bracelets aren't just good for absorbing and emitting copious quantities of flashy energy in the DC Extended Universe. io9 spotted Gal Gadot's Diana deflecting bullets with her trademark wristwear, taking out three hostile soldiers with their own gunfire in her standalone film debut. The same film reel also confirmed an upcoming solo Batman film starring and directed by Ben Affleck.

If part of my outfit was capable of deflecting bullets I'd go for the whole sleeve, I have to say. Still, fans will be glad to know that those precious inches of wrist are 100-percent bulletproof, since it wasn't quite clear in Batman v Superman.

The trailer also shows Diana making the scene at an early 20th century party, confirming she was no stranger to high society when she made her initial appearance in BvS. Chris Pine's character Steve Trevor also appeared in the roughly 30 seconds of Wonder Woman footage, making ready to take off in a vintage airplane.

Even if we have to wait a bit longer to see the first official trailer, you can expect Wonder Woman to maintain the grim tone of Batman v Superman, with a few humorous moments to break things up. That Lasso of Truth would be great to bust out at parties and interrogations alike, I'm just saying.

Directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, and Saïd Taghmaoui, Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
