Wolverine sequel gets a new screenwriter
The forthcoming sequel to The Wolverine has bagged itself a new writer, with Michael Green set to pen the script for Hugh Jackman’s next outing as the cigar-chomping mutant.
Green is no stranger to superhero sagas, having worked on both Heroes and the recent Green Lantern adaptation. He has also just completed a script for the upcoming Blade Runner sequel.
David James Kelly had previously been attached to write the new film, which is expected to be Jackman’s final performance as the character. Plot details have yet to be confirmed, although Patrick Stewart recently hinted that the film may explore the dynamic between Wolverine and Charles Xavier.
The sequel has yet to receive an official title, but is currently slated to open in the UK on 2 March 2017 and the US the following day.
