Valve has kicked off a Steam Holiday Sale featuring daily deals of up to 75% off some of the most popular titles on the digital download service. Not content with savings alone, the studio is sweetening the pot with an Epic Holiday Giveaway that will see members gifted with prizes for completing in-game objectives, and one lucky gamer will win every game in Steam's massive library.
Launched to compliment Steam's Holiday Sale, the contest calls on Steam members to complete a set of six daily in-game objectives for their chance to receive either free games or coupons from the Great Gift Pile, or a piece of a coal which can be collected and crafted into a gift. Members are allowed to both trade or give their items via Steam Trading; however, every piece of coal remaining in each account on January 1 will be counted as one entry to win Valve's grand prize of every game in Steam's catalog.
The main winner will be announced on January 2, along with 50 first prize winners, who will receive the top ten items on their wishlist; 100 second prize winners, who will get the top five items on their wishlist, and 1,000 third prize winners, who will walk away with a Valve Complete Pack.
