Win lunch with Al Gore!

You love the internet, and so does Al Gore (he invented it, remember?) and you can win a chance to discuss it with him, and whatever else you feel like banging on about over your burger and chips, thanks to Current TV.

Current TV launched in 2005 in the States, and was the first TV network in history to allow its audience to take control of their telly via Viewer-Created-Content, vote for what programmes they want to watch, and even create their own adverts. It’s a bit like youtube, basically – but bigger.

The UK model will be launching on 12 March, a fact the Al Gore contest is intended to celebrate.

So, if you want to meet an ace ex-Vice President, and the star of An Inconvenient Truth, all you have to do is create your own short film - using a video camera or mobile phone - which must focus on one of three themes (a person, a place, or a thing) and must be non-fiction. Further instructions can be found at www.uk.current.com which is also the place you need to go to upload your masterpiece.

President of Programming David Neuman said, “Current is about creating a global dialogue among young adults. This contest is intended to spark that dialogue among young and aspiring filmmakers in the UK, allowing us to capture stories in the voice of our viewers.”

If you want to make your voice heard, upload your submission to www.uk.current.com by 8 April. Current TV will select one grand prize winner and two second prize winners in each category, and will announce all winners by 15 May.
