But it wasn't the first time Margaret Atwood's classic dystopian novel had come to the screen. A movie version was released in 1990, with some true A-list talent behind it: starring roles for Natasha Richardson, Faye Dunaway, and Robert Duvall and a screenplay by legendary playwright Harold Pinter.
