Will Ferrell has given an update on the long-awaited Zoolander 2 , and confirms that super-villain Mugatu will be returning for round two.
“We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon,” revealed Ferrell, “and Mugatu is a part of it.”
For those unfamiliar with the first film, Mugatu is the extravagantly-coiffured fashion mogul turned global terrorist who bears more than a passing resemblance to Karl Lagerfeld…
Ferrell’s update is the latest in a series of encouraging reports surrounding the project, with Justin Theroux recently confirming that he and Ben Stiller have completed a first version of the script, and are setting about polishing it up.
Of course, we have yet to receive official confirmation that Paramount has given the sequel the green light, but a read-through of a completed script would certainly indicate that things are moving in that direction… fingers crossed.
