Why the Hitman movie will suck

Oct 11, 2007

Word is creeping out of the shadows that the Hitman movie (which was already looking a bit on the dodgy side) will be heavily watered down for its final release.

Rumour from the movie world says that director Xavier Gens handed in an "explicitly violent, very bloody cut of the film that apparently included a number of head shots and extreme gore moments that would have guaranteed the film a hard R rating."

Sounds about right to us, and anyone else that's played the games.

Obviously this shouldn't have come as a surprise to the studio execs if they'd have done even the tiniest bit of research into Hitman's subject matter. But it did.

The studio then removed the director from the project and placed Nicolas De Toth in control of a new edit. He was also in charge of toning down Live Free Or Die Hard. Sounds like his job title should be party pooper to us.

We weren't really interested in the Hitman movie to start with and we're definitely not now.
