Where to buy the RTX 4090: US and UK retailers
Launch madness is over, and we've gathered together the best retailers to get your hands on the 4090
The Nvidia RTX 4090 has been flying off the shelves since its release back in October. Although the GPU shortage is well and truly over by now, the new RTX 40 series is proving to be exceedingly popular thanks to the huge increase in performance and great innovations Nvidia has made with the new generation. For that reason, we've pulled together the most reliable retailers that are showing steady stock levels of the RTX 4090, in the hope that buying won't cause you too many headaches.
It's worth noting that the price tag of the 4090 is a pretty hefty one, coming in at $1,499 / £1,649. Unfortunately, retailers are marking this price up quite high, meaning you'll likely be spending even more than this to get your hands on the new BFGPU.
If you're not willing to spend that much then it's definitely worth considering the other best graphics card on the market so you can snag a cheaper option. It's unlikely we'll see any discounts on the RTX 4090 anytime soon. If you're still unsure about whether or not the new series cards are worth their price tag then you can take a look at our comparison of the 4080 vs 3080 graphics cards. And if you've not had a chance to take a look at just how much power the new cards will hold, you should check out our guide on everything we know about the 40 series cards.
Where to buy the RTX 4090 right now
Best retailer in the US
MSI Gaming (MSI) GeForce RTX 4090 24GB - $1,699 at Newegg
If you're in the US, this is probably your best bet at the moment. Newegg is as reliable as they come in terms of PC component and stock levels. They have other 4090 models on offer, too, but this is the most reasonably priced.
Best retailer in the UK
PNY GeForce RTX 4090 VERTO EPIC-X RGB 24GB GDDR6X - £1,729 at Overclockers UK
In the UK, this is a pretty great deal, and it isn't that far off the MSRP. Stock levels on this model, and the other 4090 variants at Overclockers seems pretty stable just now, so get moving before the competition beats you to it!
Where to buy RTX 4090 - USA
Newegg | $1,499 and up
There's a good range of models on offer at Newegg, both above and below the $2,000 mark. The best option we're seeing is the MSI variant we highlighted above, but Newegg seems to have good stock levels, and has the 4080 and 4070 Ti, too.
Best Buy | $1,499 and up
Best buy has a good range of RTX 4090 boards on offer, but quite a few are out of stock at time of writing. We are seeing the MSI model at $1,649, but Best Buy might be one to watch if you're just scoping out at the moment. If stock levels replenish for them, they've got some good options that aren't too badly priced.
Nvidia | $1,499 and up
Nvidia, ie, the source, is always a solid bet. At time of writing, they've got quite a few models available, and the website has a notification feature that will notify you when your desired 4090 is available if it isn't already.
Amazon USA | $1,499 and up
Amazon has a few options when it comes to the 4090 - but we wouldn't recommend shopping here unless you had exhausted all your other options. The 4090 is looking a bit more expensive on Amazon, and it will no doubt be the most competitive since it's everyone's go-to retailer to check.
Where to buy RTX 4090 - UK
Overclockers | £1,649 and up
There are tons of cards listed here and good stock levels appearing on them, too. The best option is the Zotac model, which, at the moment, is even on offer for £1,699.99. We'd act fast before that deal expires, or stock runs out.
Ebuyer | £1,749 and up
Ebuyer has a good range of models on its shelves, too. It even has options for you to finance the GPU in case over £1,500 is a bit much to pay all at once. The cheapest we're seeing here is the Zotac 24GB model, which is at £1,709 - a good option if the cheaper deal at Overclockers goes out of stock.
Currys PC World | £1,649 and up
There are a few models available at Currys - although these aren't the cheapest retail prices we're seeing. There are also some prebuilt gaming PCs with the 4090 already loaded in, which, depending on your setup, might be worth looking at in terms of value for money.
Nvidia | £1,679 and up
Straight from the horses mouth is always a reliable, albeit competitive option. Similarly to the US, there's the option to set up notifications so you know exactly when stock will be available on your GPU of choice.
Amazon UK | £1,759 and up
Stock levels are looking pretty thin on the world's largest retailer. This is most likely because it's the first place people will check for stock. These prices are alright, but there are specialist retailers above that can do cheaper, so we'd only recommend this if there's no other choice at the moment.
Where to buy Nvidia RTX 4090 FAQs
Is the RTX 4090 already sold out?
Since it's becoming widely regarded as the best GPU ever made, it's definitely a popular choice for PC gamers at the moment. Although stock was extremely low after release, it's not completely out if you look hard enough. Specialist PC and component retailers like Newegg and Overclockers have decent reserves left, and their prices are already cheaper than they were at launch.
Where can I find the 4090?
The Nvidia RTX 4090 is available at most major PC and component retailers like Newegg, Overclockers, eBuyer, Best Buy, and other general retailers like Amazon, too. Finding stock in your area might be quite tough depending on where you are, but Nvidia's own website allows you to set up email notifications for your GPU of choice so you get notified as soon as there's stock.
When can you buy the RTX 4090?
The RTX 4090 launched on October 12th, 2022, so it's available at any retailer that would sell GPUs. So long as you can find stock, and you can afford to pay above its MSRP, so, over $1,500 / £1,500, you can buy it now.
