The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta is just a week away (for PlayStation 4 owners anyway), so Treyarch and Activision have provided a road map for your trip to the year 2065. What's really neat is that some of this hadn't even been announced for the full game, let alone the multiplayer beta.
Eagle-eyed fans may have already spied two previously-unknown Specialists in the Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta trailer. Battery, who can choose to deploy bullet-reflecting armor or a grenade launcher that shoots bouncing bombs of death, is pictured in the headline image above. The other Specialist, Spectre, can turn invisible or slice up foes using wristblades, and is shown below:
As for where these futuristic supersoldiers will be running and gunning, the beta will include three maps: "Hunted," a hunting lodge nestled into the side of a mountain; "Combine," a research facility set in the Sahara desert; and "Evac," an abandoned evacuation zone in a flooded city. Across these maps, players will have access to seven modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Demolition, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, and Search & Destroy.
The more artistically inclined will also enjoy the Weapon Paintshop, which allows players to create custom skins for their guns and emblems.
To get access to the beta, you'll need to pre-order the game. PS4 players will be able to frag each other from August 19 - 23, while Xbox One and PC owners can get in on the action from August 26 - 30.
