Weekend Spent: Nov. 10-11 - What are you playing?

Cundy: Paramount gaming priority of the weekend is to avoid at all costs being coerced by my daughters into playing New Style Boutique, which is their current favourite 3DS distraction. If that undesirable scenario is successfully bypassed, I expect I’ll slip into something far more comfortable, like Doom 3: BFG Edition.

Darren: In between bursts of Pokemon: HeartGold on DS - thanks to my pile of shame, I’m only now getting around to this one - I’ll be levelling up my NaNoWriMo wordcount and deploying my Allen Key +18 on an IKEA table. Those are kinds of games, right?

David: Once again, my weekend is going to be consumed by the meta-game of emotional wrangling that I’ve discovered is unlocked when you link up XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Dishonored . I really should get back into the creative paranormal sandbox murdering of the deceitful and unjust. I want to. I keep really, really intending to. I love creative paranormal sandbox murdering so much that Dishonored is categorically one of my two Games of the Year thus far. But XCOM is a compulsively absorbing mistress. In fact four times this week I’ve found myself playing it without even realising I’d switch my PS3 on. I really don’t know how this is going to pan out. But I’m going to try to play Dishonored. Wish me luck.

Justin: Up to level 45 in Borderlands 2 and just beat Buckbeak (note: It’s not called Buckbeak) for the second time through. That aside, I’m still enjoying Need For Speed: Most Wanted on PS Vita and I’m still top of the XBLA leaderboard for Spring Valley on Black Ops 2 so I will be playing Halo 4 and perhaps a bit of Modern Warfare 3 to get back into the swing of things. I must admit, I haven't been this excited for a new Call of Duty game in a long time.

Cooper: I’m really hoping to play some Halo 4 multiplayer this weekend, but I might end up diving into more Wii U games so I can be more informed on the launch lineup. Oh, and Hitman: Absolution. So much Hitman: Absolution.

Henry: As you may have noticed, Wii U has arrived at GamesRadar. The means it’s time to really get into the the games, which I’ll be doing this weekend. What’s on the agenda? New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendo Land, Rabbids Land, and Scribblenauts Unlimited. Here’s hoping I can find the time to play all of them.

Lucas: After months of waiting, I finally bought a PS3 to prop up on my desk, completing my transformation into a full-on homebody. Now I'm playing catch-up: Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, and...Folklore are all on my weekend agenda. Also, Ryan helped me build a new computer. What a guy!

Lorenzo: I'm still working on my playthrough of Assassin's Creed 3. I'm going to have to haul you-know-what to finish this weekend so I can focus on blasting zombies and owning everyone in Black Ops II next week. Also, I've been dying to play Halo 4, but that probably won't happen for a few more weeks.

Tom: Here's this: I'm a masochist when it comes to gaming. It's a formative thing--EverQuest was actually my mommy there for a while--so... actually let's just end that conversation right there. After spending two hours installing and patching XCOM last night, I'm committing to having it beat the crap out of me this weekend. Why do I want it? Why do I need it? Ryan's editorial on what makes us love the games that hate us has that answer.
