Battlestar Prequel is Go
The Sci Fi channel in the US has given the go-ahead for a two-hour backdoor pilot for Battlestar Galactica prequel project, Caprica, according to Sci Fi Wire . Shooting is due top begin in Vancouver this spring under the executive productionship of Galactica mainstays Ronald D Moore and David Eick (who presumably has time on his hands now Bionic Woman has gone tits up). "Set 50 years before the events of Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families – the Greystones and the Adamas – as they grow, compete and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies. Enmeshed in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the creation of the Cylons, the two houses go toe-to-toe,” reports the site.
True Believer
More Sci Fi US news over at Variety which reports that the channel has also commissioned True Believer, based on an Image comicbook by Rosario Dawson. True Believer is about a comicbook nerd and a down-on-his-luck superhero who pair up to become crime fighters.
