Paramount has rearranged its schedule, confirming release dates for One Shot and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle s (hooray!) but pushing back World War Z (boo!). One Shot , which is based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels, will hit multiplexes on 21 December, while T eenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which Wrath Of The Titans director Jonathan Liebesman is tipped to helm) will arrive on Christmas Day, December 25 2013. Brad Pitt fans are in for a wait, as World War Z has now been delayed until 21 June 2013.

New images have been released from Sony Pictures from upcoming animation Hotel Transylvania . Starring the voices of Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, the story of a hotel for monsters (run by Dracula, naturally) has a planned release date of 21 September 2012.

Mandrake the Magician is set to have a 21 st century makeover courtesy of Warner Bros, which recently picked up the rights to the ’30s comic strip. An adaptation has been in the works for some time, and now the search is on for a writing team to the bring the four-colour illusionist to the big screen.

The Hunger Games has been cut to achieve a teenager friendly 12A rating in the UK. The changes – which include the removal of excess blood spatter – are part of positioning the The Hunger Games to tap into the lucrative Harry Potter / Twilight market. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, The Hunger Games opens on 23 March.
