Well, Marc Webb certainly has an apt name. And he’s not Michael Bay , so that’s two things in his favour. But is the relatively unknown director really top of Sony’s list to take over the Spider-Man franchise?
Apparently so, according to Deadline Hollywood , which reckons, “While the studio has a wish list of star directors like James Cameron, David Fincher, and Wes Anderson, the emergence of Webb as director comes as a huge surprise. But [our] sources say Webb met about the Spidey reboot with the pic's producers and executives looking to get the picture into production later this year for a Summer 2012 release.”
The article suggests that Sony would also like to see the film shot in 3D.
Marc Webb comes from a rock and pop video background and directed the romantic comedy movie (500) Days Of Summer.
