Watchmen finds a home
Warner Bros snaps up superhero flick
Having been dropped by Paramount, the much-anticipated Watchmen flick is now in the hands of Warner Bros.
Although original producers Lloyd Levin and Larry Gordon remain in place, Brit helmer Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy) will not follow the project to its new home. Also out the door is X-Men scriber David Hayter.
The movie will be based on the celebrated DC Comic from graphic novel scribbling legends Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. The tale focuses on a group of caped crusaders who, after sometime away from the limelight, are now under threat from a dark and unknown force. The story was hailed on its release and is largely credited, alongside Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, with the birth of the adult comic book.
