Watch promo footage from 300
A cleaner version of the Comic Con trailer
Anyone who was in the hall for the 300 presentation at Comic Con can remember the feeling of seeing the promo footage that director Zack Snyder brought with him. The furious, lurid burst of violence and energy had the crowd cheering and demanding to see it again not once, but twice.
And now the footage – albeit in cleaned, less bloody and nipple-free form - is online with a batch of extra material included. The film chronicles the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Their sacrifice ended up uniting all of Greece to battle against the Persian incursion.
And it’s all based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel version of the story, recreating many of the pages exactly, à la Sin City. To check out the footage, which is hosted by Movies For The Masses, click here .
