Watch the first trailer for AMCs Preacher starring Dominic Cooper
During last night’s US broadcast of The Walking Dead, AMC premiered the first trailer for its new series Preacher. Produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, and based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's popular comic series of the same name, the show stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer. A small town Texas preacher who merges with a powerful entity from heaven, he gains the ability to order people to do whatever he commands. Sounds dangerous...

The main takeaway from this trailer is that the dark and violent tone from the comics has been translated to the screen. Not much is given away when it comes to the show’s overarching narrative – and we don’t even get a glimpse of Custer’s ability – but more details will likely be released as Preacher gets close to its mid-2016 premiere.
