Watch the first full trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass
Back in 2010, Tim Burton's visually lavish Alice in Wonderland grossed $1 billion at the box office, so it's mildly surprising that it's taken over five years for a sequel to make it to the silver screen. Nonetheless, make it it has, and after the now customary 10 second teasers we have our first full trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass.

The new footage does a good job of outlining the sequel's narrative, which will see Mia Wasikowska's Alice heading back to Underland to save Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter. The trailer also takes care to note that Burton will only be serving as a producer this time round, with James Bobin - who directed 2011's The Muppets - calling the shots from the director's chair.
Along with Depp and Wasikowska, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway will all reprise their roles, with Sacha Baron Cohen joining the franchise as the villainous Time. Alice Through the Looking Glass opens in UK and US cinemas May 27 2016.
