Watch the Assassins Creed Revelations Gamescom demo with developer narration
Keys, bombs and backstory take center stage in 10-minute gameplay video
At Gamescom last week, attendees were able to get their deepest look yet at Assassin’s Creed Revelations, with a demo that revealed quite a bit about two of the game’s biggest additions: custom bomb-crafting, and flashbacks to Altair’s life as experienced by Ezio Auditore. And now you can see it for yourself, thanks to this narrated video walkthrough disseminated by Ubisoft.
There’s quite a bit of content in the video, but the two big takeaways are a noticeable visual bump up from AC Brotherhood – just look at the faces during the cutscenes for an example – and the versatility of the new bombs, which range from straight-up grenades to noisemakers and tripwire bombs. More than anything else, these could change the gameplay considerably, adding new elements of stealth and trickery to a series where being sneaky normally just means climbing above your enemies and not being seen. We’re hoping to see even more at PAX Prime later this week, but in the meantime this gives fans quite a bit to chew on.
