Why you can trust 12DOVE
War World has been knocking around since July last year, where it was announced by Ubisoft at last year’s E3. In the time since, Peter Moore left Microsoft, the economy has hit the toilet, and War World still hasn’t become a good game. If you’ve tried the least generous trial ever – a whopping fifty seconds of gameplay – you’ll not know just how pointless War World’s existence is.
As the jerkiest, screen-tearingest shooter ever, it doesn’t come off well in those brief fifty seconds, but it’s only on an extended play you discover the game’s flimsy weapons, cumbersome camera, boxy worlds, cretinous AI, and boring combat. There’s a fairly comprehensive selection of weapons, stages, and upgrades, but why even bother listing them when the core combat is so thoroughly dull and the game engine disintegrating at the seams? War World is inadequate in every regard.
