War Front strategy guide - German campaign
Conquer the world with our complete German mission walkthrough
When the Engineer reaches the Allied Base, order it to build a Tank Factory and produce a few Wurfrahmen or Panthers and spread them out around to do guard duty; Partisan attacks are on the way. With the Resources from the westernmost mine in the north pouring in to your coffers, you should be able to throw up some Flame Bunkers after the Tank Factory is completed, making your task of safeguarding the Allied buildings easier. Remember: you need to keep all Allied structures safe from destruction to receive that coveted Excellent rating.
At the mine to the north, start expanding a secondary base, beginning with Airfields and Flame Bunkers to protect it — all under the watchful eye of the Core Units you sent with an Engineer. As soon as it’s feasible, select your Command Center at the Start point and upgrade to Tech Level 2 (a rule you should follow in all missions). As soon as you reach Tech Level 2, build the necessary number of Tigers at the Tank Factory in the south and send them to the Reinforcement point and fulfill your obligation to the Allies. Next, repair the Airfield to gain an Allied Call-In Bomber — it will prove crucial in the attack on the Soviet Base. By now, you should have copious resources; use them to build Research Facilities (and upgrade them with the Economic Miracle so they provide income) and V1 Launch Sites at your three bases that can be upgraded to V2 status when you reach Tech Level 3.
While all this is going on, you mustn’t forget that your main goal is to destroy the Southeastern Soviet Base; instead of creating armored units at the secondary base in the north, erect AT 88 Bunkers to blunt any possible enemy attack—you need the rolling steel beasts in the south in order to accomplish the Primary Objective. Use the Tank Factory the Engineer built at the Allied Base to pump out Tech Level 3 armored units: Maus tanks, Hummel artillery, and Elephant tank killers. Meanwhile, build up a respectable air force — say, eight or more Stukas (you don’t need Me 262s because there are no enemy interceptors in this mission) to support the assault on the Russian stronghold.
Assemble the armored units at two entrances to the Soviet Base — one to the east and one to the southwest — and give yourself plenty of time to carry out the attack (a bare minimum of 3 minutes). If you have V1 or V2 missiles that can demolish any of the buildings at the Soviet Base, use them before moving in; if not, order the armored units to target AA vehicles and buildings to clear a path for your aircraft. You might lose a few armored vehicles, but with the AA defenses down your Stukas can roam at will. Oh, and remember that Allied Call-In Bomber you gained by repairing the Airfield? Use it to take out several Russian buildings at once.
