Vita 2000 revealed in Japan! Thinner, lighter, coming in October
Will it be announced for US/UK?
During Sony's Japanese press event, the publisher started the event with a big surprise: a redesigned PS Vita. Though the shape is relatively the same, the 2000 Series is 15% lighter, sports a slightly different design, and has one extra hour of battery time. The Japanese version will come in six different colors, too--take a look at the new model below.
The system will launch in Japan on October 10 and cost 19,000 Yen, which is about $200. A 64GB memory card will also be released the same day, which we're guessing should go a long way to offsetting the slight price cut in the new model (see: it'll be expensive).
No international launch was announced at the event, but it's hard to imagine Sony would keep this sexy new look to Japan. Stay tuned for more information as the press conference continues.
