Visceral Games working on "bold new franchise"
Dead Space developer's new IP a "thrilling online action shooter game"
Visceral Games, developers of the Dead Space and Dante's Inferno series, have been revealed to be hiring for work on a new IP. The mysterious title was outed by a job listing, and is for a multiplayer designer on what's being called a "thrilling online action shooter game." Though this might sound, at first, like a position that would fit into a Dead Space sequel, the next line states that the job is a "unique opportunity to contribute to a bold new franchise which is a cornerstone for a new EA Games Studio."
So, not Dead Space. Got it.

There's a chance that the listing is referring to Dead Space's multiplayer anyway, or a Dead Space spin-off shooter of some sorts, but it sure sounds like it's talking up an entirely new property altogether. If that's the case, and this isn't some weird multiplayer mode for the developer's other rumored title, The Ripper (based, obviously, on a supernatural Jack the Ripper), it means the developer really is a three or four game studio now, which is quite the rapid transition from Visceral's humble beginnings earlier this generation.
Hopefully whatever it's working on is actually a new IP, and not a work of 14th century literature that EA is turning into an IP. Well, unless it's a Canterbury Tales FPS, that would be pretty neat.
