Virtual console games announced
30 hits - some big and some very, very small - will be available by the end of the year
Today, Nintendo has announced the first 30 games that will be available on the Wii's Virtual Console download service. Spanning five different console systems - two of which were not released by Nintendo - the list is a mixture of classics (The Legend of Zelda, Bonk's Advnture) and "why did they bother?" (Urban Champion, Victory Run) that has us excited for the future of the service. These games will all be out by the end of December 2006.
In Nintendo's pricing scheme, NES games cost 500 points (with one point being one cent.) TurboGrafx 16 games are 600 points while SNES and Sega Genesis games are slated to hit at 800 points each. Nintendo 64 games round it out at 1000 points.
