Virtua Fighter 5 defects to 360
[360] Sega's former PS3 exclusive goes to Microsoft too
Friday 22 December 2006
In a move that we're sure has caused surprise, shock and much gnashing of teeth inside Sony, Sega has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 is landing on Xbox 360 in the middle of next year.
The fifth generation fighter had previously only been set to appear on PS3 in the spring, but now it seems that 360 owners will also get their own version of the arcade bruiser just a little later on.
Sega's Matt Woodley was the man with the platitudes saying: "Those people lucky enough to have already played Virtua Fighter 5 will know that it's laid the foundations to become the clear benchmark for fighting games on all next generation consoles."
At the moment any details and differences between the two remain a closely guarded secret, but both versions look set to include the same 17 warriors, 3D backdrops and four different costumes for each fighter.
