Venom - The Movie?

We know you were really after a Spider-Man spin-off for Ted Raimi’s Daily Bugle bumbler Hoffman, but for now you’ll just have to cry yourself to sleep with the news that Venom may be getting its own franchise.
It only seems fair after the alien beastie’s criminal misuse in Spider-Man 3 for Venom to warrant a full movie exploring all the chaos it can cause.
IESB.net’s ear has been put to the ground and they’ve heard that, with Marvel regaining movie rights to the character, the company is looking to bring the creature back to life for a full film.
Of course, there’s no word on what the plot might be or even if it’ll happen at all (plus chances are Sony would want to be involved), but Venom may get his due at last. And a better script this time, maybe?
