Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has a release date of August 22, costs $40

Uncharted fans, you'll be able to return to Naughty Dog's fictional universe full of wonder, excitement, and lots of waist-high grass this fall. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has an official release date of August 22 for North America, August 23 for Europe. And how much will it cost to see Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazer team up to hunt down a long-lost treasure?

Oof, $40.

Now, that may seem like a large price to pay for a standalone expansion, but Naughty Dog says that The Lost Legacy will be "a true Uncharted game." In an interview with IBTimes, the developer said that what it's creating is akin to a full game.

"Years ago, when we were asked if we were ever doing a single player expansion for Uncharted we always said, 'Well, we don’t have the self-discipline to do that.' If we tried to do that we’d create a full game," Naughty Dog communications director Arne Mayer said. "There’s no way we could, sort of, constrict and restrain ourselves, and that’s exactly what was happening here. When we were doing story pitches, we were coming up with a game that would be over 10 hours long and so we suddenly realised everything we said was true and we couldn’t keep it short."

Personally, I wish The Lost Legacy was just a smidgen cheaper at $30, but that's just me. What about you? Is $40 a fair price for a 10+ hour Uncharted experience?
