Uncharted 4 video shows some of Nathan Drake's '11 to 12' muddy, bloody outfits

Video game characters usually only change their outfits when they find better gear or buy DLC. But Naughty Dog is trying harder than ever to make Nathan Drake feel like a living, breathing, grunting person in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and part of that is expanding his wardrobe far beyond the usual half-tucked Henley shirt. Check out part three of the Uncharted 4 making-of documentary to see how Naughty Dog is making the clothes that make the man.

Heck, I'm not sure I have "11 to 12 outfits" right now, unless you count all the permutations of jeans and Cowboy Bebop T-shirts separately. Beyond dressing Drake for the occasion, I'm mostly excited to hear that Uncharted 4 will offer more branching paths and "10 times" the explorable space of previous games. I say mostly because I worry that opening up wider regions and branching paths may prevent Naughty Dog from replicating (or improving on) Uncharted 2's masterful pacing. But hey, if anybody can do it, it's those misbehaving canines.

Check out the first part of the documentary series to see what The Last of Us is lending to Uncharted 4, and the second part to see why Nathan Drake keeps getting older (it's not just the inexorable march of time). Sony plans to publish two more episodes throughout April, and it will release Uncharted 4: A Thief's End on May 10.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
