The Last of Us held the top spot on the UK all formats all prices chart for the week ended July 6. Although sales of the PS3-only game declined 46 per cent week-on-week, it became the first title of the year to retain the chart top spot for four weeks running. Bioshock Infinite and Dead Island: Riptide each managed three weeks at No.1.
The retail version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition remained at No.2, ahead of FIFA 13, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and 2012 release Assassin’s Creed III, which benefited from continued price promotions, according to retail monitor Chart-Track.
Tomb Raider was up one place to No.6, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, The Sims 3: Island Paradise, Deadpool and Far Cry 3 rounded off the top ten. Namco Bandai’s 3DS RPG Project X Zone was the only new top 40 entry at No.18.

We said in our The Last of Us review: "In terms of everything the modern action game has strived to be, The Last of Us is the full-stop at the end of the sentence, leaving no more to be said. Until next-gen. If this is our starting point for that, then the next five to ten years could be truly amazing.”
