Two female writers join Transformers brains trust
Thus far, the Transformers franchise has been big, dumb and loud, with its female characters largely reduced to window-dressing status. However, the latter might be about to change with the news that two female writers have been added to the brains trust charged with plotting the future of the series…
Deadline reports that Lindsey Beer and Christina Hodson have joined the writers room that is being spearheaded by Akiva Goldsman. The aim of the group is to create an expanded Transformers universe similar to the one created by Marvel.
Neither Beer nor Hodson have a released film on their CV, although the latter has been featured on the Black List three times. That said, the pair are highly rated as up and coming screenwriters, and should hopefully help steer the franchise away from its penchant for miniature denim shorts and lingering cleavage shots...
