Twilight's Catherine Hardwicke will direct The Bitch Posse
More angsty teens in store
Following an underwhelming response to Red Riding Hood , Catherine Hardwicke will direct an adaptation of The Bitch Posse .
The material sounds right up her street, as she has primarily dealt with all manner of brooding teenagers throughout her directorial career.
Despite the provocative title, there's the possibility this could be skewed slightly older than the likes of Twilight and Red Riding Hood , as the source novel looks at the protagonists as high school seniors and messed-up adults.
Three outcasts get together to form the eponymous group at school, only to be rocked by a major event with repercussions that will affect them deep into their adult lives.
It's a catchy premise, with the narrative time-jumping potentially investing the high-school antics with dramatic heft and added twisty-tension.
There's currently no word on who'll star in The Bitch Posse , though Hardwicke has previously demonstrated flair for attracting youngsters on the verge of big things in the likes of Thirteen , Lords of Dogtown and, of course, Twilight .
