Shaknado takes over Twitter, praise for Pacific Rim and The World's End envy in the latest Tweets Of The Week
What do you get when you combine the king of the ocean with devastating natural weather phenomena? A Twitter sensation!
Sharknado – the latest so-bad-it’s-good B-movie from Asylum – aired on the Syfy channel in the States last week, and the joke-storm which swept Twitter as a result was nothing short of unprecedented for something quite so frivolous. According to the Twitter blog the movie was mentioned over 440,000 times in 24 hours and at its peak was being tweeted about 5,000 times a minute.
In this age of 140 character discourse, perhaps all you really need to be a social networking hit is a title that captures imaginations.
