Oh, the irony. In a show where the character’s aimed to misbehave on a regular basis the law men over at Fox have been clamping down on people doing just that; specifically, sending out cease and desist orders to people selling their own versions of Jayne’s grungy, ear-warming orange hat from Firefly .
It all started when manufacturer Ripple Junction acquired the license to produce the goofy tangerine eyesore from Fox for retailers such as Think Geek. Fox, apparently, has been taking action against all unlicensed vendors. Both Ripple Junction and Think Geek deny involvement . Unsurprisingly the stars of the show (and costume designer who created the controversial headpiece) have been taking to Twitter over the past week to put in their two cents, whether implied or explicit.
