Outland Underwater
Production company The Gotham Group (with was behind The Spiderwick Chronicles) has optioned the rights to make a movie based on as-yet-unpublished novel by Kat Falls called Dark Life, set in a future in which rising sea levels have forced humanity to live like sardines in underwater homesteads. Described on Variety.com as an underwater Western, it certainly does sound like a sub-aqua version of Outland: “The story follows Ty, who has lived his whole life on his family's homestead and has dreams of claiming his own stake when he turns eighteen. But when outlaws' attacks on government supply ships and settlements threaten to destroy the underwater territory, Ty finds himself in a fight to stop the outlaws and save the only home he has ever known."

Yahoo.movies has posted two new posters for M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, opening in the UK on 13 August.
Fringe Season Two Finale Scoop
We’ve spoiler protected this in case you want to read the rest of the page, but don’t want to know this juicy titbit – highlight the space below to read what Entertainment Weekly’s Auiello Files has discovered: Fringe’s second-season finale this spring will feature a long-awaited confrontation between weird science partners-turned-frenemies William Bell (Leonard Nimoy) and Walter Bishop (John Noble). “William and Walter will finally face off in the finale,” confirms consulting producer Akiva Goldsman. “These [characters] have so much that they’re bringing to bear. And Leonard and John are two fantastic actors.” Okay that’s the spoilery stuff, but it’s safe to announce that Akiva Goldsman is directing the two-part finale episode which is written by exec producers Jeff Pinkner and JH Wyman – oh hang on… saying it’s a two-parter isn’t deemed spoilerish by some, is it?
The Prisoner: The Game
With everybody getting excited at the prospect of the BBC finally showing willingness to develop a Doctor Who console game, it looks like ITV could also be eying up one of its SF franchises (the one that’s not Primeval) for some console action – The Prisoner. In an interview with MVCUK.com , ITV Studios’ licensing manager James Chubb reckons, "I’d like to get some imaginative and highly layered logic games in the market for brands such as The Krypton Factor and The Prisoner." Logic? Has he seen the latest version of The Prisoner? Dream logic maybe.
