Dollhouse Season Two Premiere Pics
Flickr has some vaguely spoilery pics from the premiere of Dollhouse season two – “Vows” – including shots of Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber as a wealthy financier. (And when we say vaguely spoilery, we mean not much more spoilery than what you can guess from the episode title…). The show returns to US screens on Friday 25 September.
The Magician’s Elephant
Fox is to turn children’s book The Magician’s Elephant into a Princess Bride-style fantasy movie, according to Variety . The book, about a boy who’s told that an elephant will lead the way to his missing sister, is by Kate DiCamillo, who also rote the the novels that inspired the movies The Tale Of Despereaux and Because Of Winn Dixie. Martin (The Go-Getter) Hynes, who's writing the script, reckons, “Fox wanted to make a fable which could both be a classic but not take itself too seriously. The film we've referenced in terms of tone is The Princess Bride; something that kids will enjoy, but adults will love on other levels." In Britain we used to call those Carry On movies.
Avatar Site Crashes Under Fan Assault
The official Avatar web site crashed for several hours on Monday as moviegoers rushed to secure free seats to see the 16 minutes of 3D preview footage that will be shown at 104 Imax theaters around the country on Friday evening, according to The Hollywood Reporter
