Tolkien Trust Claims New Line is Uncharitable
The LA Times is reporting that the charitable trust of JRR Tolkien is suing New Line for allegedly cheating it out of $150 million from the blockbuster movie trilogy. The trust’s lawyers claim that Newline position is that it doesn’t feel it owes them any money. "To take the position that a gross participant in a film of that magnitude gets not one penny strikes me as bizarre,” said Bonnie Eskenazi, representing the trust.
